About KGU

We will introduce the KGU to you. KGU has four faculties, one for commerce, one for economics, one for foreign language and one for social welfare. Also, these faculties have several departments. The commerce has hospitality management and management in the department of commercial science. Economics has economy, international economy and a legal economics course. The foreign language faculty has and English and an East Asia course. Social welfare has social welfare, welfare environment and a child family welfare course.

We belong to English course in the department of foreign language. In this course, we study about English on the whole. For example, we study about American culture and history, British culture and history, and American literary history and other subjects. These classes is so fun, because we expose the others country’s culture. Also, in the first grade, we went to freshman camp. This is an event for getting along with everyone. Also we speak to foreign people and enjoy recreation. It is so fun! This event was memorial for us.

Now we will talk about the department of English. There is the homestay program. We can choose to go to Australia or New Zealand. In the e of New Zealand, we go to the Unitec University, and we can take many classes. There are a lot of people from a lot of countries, so you must be able to learn many countries’ cultures and languages. Taking part in the program, it will develop your English ability. If you stay in a foreign country for one month, your listening ability, speaking ability and communication ability will surely improve.

Next, we are going to talk about circle club. There are many kinds of circles and clubs in KGU. The total numbers of circles and clubs are more than one hundred. There are so many circle clubs in KGU, and it is more active than any other university in Kumamoto.

We are going to show you the activity of the average circle or club. We gather once a week. Almost all clubs gather on Wednesday, so we have to assemble in a class room at lunch time on Wednesday. The meeting is always held from at 12:10 to at 13 p.m. Each head of the club explains the activity of the day. Almost all activities are sports. For example, we play basketball, volleyball, badminton, soccer and baseball. Sometimes we can not reserve the gymnasium. In case of that, we go shopping or go to Ezu Lake, and we play some games. After that, each car’s group goes to a restaurant to have dinner, and we assemble some place again. It is an exciting activity for us.

Moreover, there are a lot of events. For example, there is flower viewing for freshmen, a picnic for freshmen, a dance party, the combined festival of circle club and the school festival. First of all, we are going to talk about the flower viewing for freshmen. Each circle club has one for new members of the circle club in Kumamoto Castle. We have dinner together, and we introduce ourselves to each other. It is the completion our circle club!!

Next, we are going to talk about the picnic for freshmen. We go to an amusement park, and we play with our circle members. Moreover, we can take part in a lottery. The premiums are prepared, and it is so magnificent. Then, we are going to talk about the festival of circle club combination. It is held at the Kumamoto prefecture playhouse. And each circle club makes a movie and shows it there. We choose the best movie. Finally, we are going to talk about school festival. Because many people come to the school festival, each circle club opens a store. There are store of fried noodles, store of ice cream, hot dog store many others. And the festival is final event for third year members, so freshmen and second year members are so sad.

Joining circle club is so wonderful for you. If you are circle member, you must enjoy your campus life. 

Then, we are going to tell you about institutions in KGU. First is about the bakery. There are many kinds of breads at the bakery. For example, melon bread, chocolate cornet, bagel, croissant and many others. But there are not only sweet breads but also daily dishes breads like a French roll with mentai france and chow mein bread. We recommend bagels and the chow mein breads. The bakery has not only many kinds of breads but also soft ice creams, drinks, rice balls and packed lunches. More female students come to the bakery than male students. We often go there with our friends. Please go to the bakery by all means.

Next, we introduce the school cafeteria. There are many kinds of menus at cafeteria. A lot of students come there. When it is lunch time, there are full of students. Udon , deep fried chicken’s set lunch, a bowl of rice topped with cooked beef and vegetables and a bowl of rice topped with chicken and eggs are popular among many students. They are all delicious. It is popular among the students because it is reasonable price. Please come to KGU’s cafeteria by all means. 

Third is about the library. In KGU’s library, there are many kinds of books. There are not only books but also various countries newspapers, a lot of CDs and DVDs in the library. KGU library is larger than other libraries, so it is well known for people. KGU’s library is useful for students. For example, there are many personal computers and there are two rooms are called study room. Students are able to study with their friends at study room. We often use the study room. When it is close to test period, a lot of students use library. And then, there are the AV rooms in the library. In the AV room, students are able to watch some DVDs.

Thus, KGU has several wonderful faculties. I think I must appreciate these things. I spend my school life in KGU at least 2 years. In KGU, this great university, I wish I want to have a full time.
